Meet “Optimus” The Humanoid Robot Created By Elon Musk
What is Optimus?
Optimus the humanoid robot, Tesla’s latest invention is a humanoid supercomputer, and it’s designed to help people with disabilities. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, Space X and Neuralink recently unveiled the first prototype of the humanoid at Tesla’s AI day.
Elon Musk says the humanoid is still “missing a brain”, therefore unable to perform complex tasks; yet. Therefore, the robot still isn’t capable of navigating the world or understanding orders or commands.
How does Optimus work?
Optimus is a supercomputer that can learn new things and improve itself, which means it will be able to do things like water plants and carry packages.
It’s basically a humanoid physical robot version of Siri or Alexa—but instead of just talking to you, it’ll also do things in the real world for you.
At the current rate of development, we could, very soon, see a working model in our homes.
